Workers' Compensation Consulting

Under your current insurance program, do you know if your claims are being managed or merely processed? There is a difference, and it can cost you a lot of money in claims, expenses, settlements and premiums.

When it comes to dealing with Workers' Compensation issues, are you qualified to:

  • Track work flow and claims?
  • Check for timely and proper payment to your employees for their medical bills?
  • Check for proper investigation of all claims?
  • Verify whether all sources of recoveries are being recognized and tracked?
  • Evaluate existing claims for settlement? What is the potential impact on your experience modification factor?
  • Verify if reserve practices are financially sound?
  • Verify the accuracy of your carrier’s audit?
  • Recommend constructive changes or confirm your plan is being handled effectively?

If not, it’s completely understandable. In today’s complex and fast moving business environment, most companies have neither the time nor the expertise to effectively manage the components of Workers' Compensation insurance on their own.

We can help, even if you decide to remain in an insured program.

We do not sell insurance!

Through our claims support service, Commercial Insurance Consultants coordinates with your broker(s) and insurance carriers to develop and implement a plan to identify, prevent or reduce causes of loss.  Our claims support services include:

  • Review of monthly loss run reports for the purpose of monitoring large claim activity.
  • Establishment of and attendance at quarterly claims review meetings for the purpose of reviewing and facilitating effective resolution of outstanding claims.
  • Coordination with carrier loss control personnel to review your safety plans and sites, as well as address any recommendations for improvement.

Through our Self Funding, Inc. (SFI) services, we provide a detailed feasibility study of Workers' Compensation Self Insurance, based on the company’s loss and premium history. Your company then makes a business decision based on our detailed analysis, which projects costs for a self insurance program over five and 10 years, and measures them against expected premiums under current insurance arrangements or other alternative insurance programs.

SFI also provides an executive report, which summarizes the salient conclusions of the study and any resulting recommendations – including possible recommendations against self insurance. If a company decides to self insure, we provide ongoing consulting services to administer the program and ensure its success.

SFI is not a Third Party Administrator (TPA). We bid out those claim administration services and negotiate a contract for our client. We also bid out to insurance agents the excess insurance to secure the best coverages and costs available.

For years, Commercial Insurance Consultants has been providing these fee-based services for global corporations, small and medium sized businesses, schools and municipalities. Call or e-mail us today to discuss your situation and receive our preliminary suggestions at no obligation.
